“I clearly like you the most.”
“Darling, I really like you. I can give you anything. If you want to be number one, I can make that happen. You can do whatever you want.”
Tong Sui frowned.
The guy who sent him the message seemed to have been watching their show closely. Otherwise, it would be impossible to find them so precisely and even deliver the message to annoy him.
“What is this?”
Chi Xingyu glanced at the contents and was instantly furious. “Which idiot wrote this to you? Was it the ones from earlier?”
“Not really,” Tong Sui replied. “He just shoved it into my hands and ran off. I didn’t see his face.”
Chi Xingyu’s good mood was almost ruined. How had they ended up attracting so many weirdos while dressed like this? He was truly speechless.
“Fine. Just throw it away.” Tong Sui tossed the letter into the trash can and took the strawberry-flavored ice cream that Chi Xingyu had purposely bought for him. “Did you pick this flavor just for me?”
Chi Xingyu nodded.
He watched as Tong Sui took a bite of the ice cream, feeling slightly better, yet he was still surprised by his nonchalant attitude.
He had thought Tong Sui would be scared.
Tong Sui was much calmer than he had expected.
Chi Xingyu stared for a while and then quietly averted his gaze.
So strange.
How could someone look so cute even while eating?
Tong Sui had not completely forgotten about the incident. His calm demeanor was also because he knew the person who sent the message might be hiding behind the camera, eagerly watching his reaction.
Such people only wanted to draw his attention and attract his notice.
Tong Sui had no intention of satisfying him.
“Let’s go and try to catch a doll,” Tong Sui said as he walked toward the pink-themed claw machine.
Inside, various styles of stuffed animals were displayed behind glass.
Tong Sui felt a bit eager to try and see if he could catch something.
He heard a voice from the neighboring machine. “Which one do you like? I’ll get it for you.”
Tong Sui turned his head to see a young couple beside them.
The girl pointed to a fluffy toy inside.
The boy said, “Just watch me.”
After a few unsuccessful attempts, he hadn’t caught a single toy.
“Are you even able to do this?” the girl asked.
The boy seemed a bit embarrassed, trying to make excuses. “Cough, the machine must have its settings altered, intentionally making it hard to catch dolls for profit. Don’t rush, sweetheart, just wait a little longer.”
Chi Xingyu stepped forward, blocking Tong Sui’s view. His palm rested against the glass, slightly tilting his head while the flashing lights reflected in his eyes.
“Should I try to get it for you?”
Tong Sui was momentarily stunned by the similarity of the words, chewing on his ice cream. “That seems really difficult.”
“Just give it a try.”
Chi Xingyu lowered his eyes, thick lashes casting shadows over part of his expression, serious as he maneuvered the joystick.
When the claw latched onto a toy, it held steady but suddenly dropped it midway.
He frowned.
However, Chi Xingyu did not show any disappointment; instead, he attempted a second try.
Chi Xingyu hadn’t used such machines before, but he had a naturally keen sense of touch and quickly grasped the technique.
On the second try, he barely moved his hand.
Tong Sui then watched as the claw successfully dropped the toy into the hole.
Thud.
Chi Xingyu leaned down to pick it up. “Do you like this one, or do you prefer something else?”
Tong Sui blinked, holding the small toy, a bit confused. “Wasn’t it supposed to be rigged?”
How did he still manage to catch something?
The boy from next door overheard and unwillingly lost face. “He was just lucky; it was a coincidence.”
Chi Xingyu didn’t argue, simply continued to feed coins into the machine.
All they heard was another thud.
He bent down again and pulled out another toy.
The boy next door: “……”
As Chi Xingyu kept winning toy after toy, the boy’s expression was almost about to crack.
In the face of absolute skill, the supposed adjustments seemed irrelevant.
Seeing that Chi Xingyu showed no signs of stopping, Tong Sui nudged his shoe with the tip of his foot, intending to save face for the boy. “That’s enough; I can’t carry that many.”
Tong Sui pulled one out and handed it to the girl beside them. “I saw you wanted this earlier, and I have too many here—take one.”
“Ah, is that okay?”
The girl’s face turned instantly red.
“Yeah, sure,” Tong Sui said, hugging the toys. “Let’s go; it seems we can exchange these for bigger toys.”
Once the two walked away, the boy scoffed, “Two guys acting so intimate is just disgusting.”
The girl beside him frowned and silently took a step back.
“Honestly, being with you is way more gross; let’s break up, you idiot.”
Tong Sui, holding a pile of toys, went to exchange them for a big white bunny, then immediately handed it to Chi Xingyu.
“What are you doing?”
Tong Sui replied, “You caught it, so you should keep it.”
Looking at the large bunny toy being handed to him, Chi Xingyu noted that it wasn’t particularly exquisite but was still quite cute, especially when Tong Sui held it close.
He squeezed it; the cotton stuffing was, of course, soft, but Chi Xingyu felt that Tong Sui felt even better to hold.
With his free hand, he subtly reached over, teasingly grazing the palm of Tong Sui’s hand, wanting to hold it but suddenly feeling a bit shy.
Tong Sui had held his hand all day today, and now Chi Xingyu hesitated; it felt a little uncomfortable.
So, he simply held on back.
Chi Xingyu was momentarily dazed, realizing that Tong Sui had actively held his hand; without hesitation, he returned the gesture, thoroughly enveloping Tong Sui’s hand in his.
